### GNU social
In 2010, we saw a huge amount of attention on the world of decentralized social networking. This benefited our GNU social project greatly, and for a moment, the world’s attention was on our doorstep as our mailing list became overrun with announcements from various projects as we scrambled to keep GNU social on target. I’m pleased to say, this has all worked out rather well. Diaspora have done a good job raising money and awareness, while veteran project Appleseed has come back from the dead and continues to make great progress, while other social networking projects seem to be springing up all over the place. In 2011, I hope to see the efforts of our first all-hands meeting in Portland, Oregon in July come to frution and a wide ecosystem (buzzword!) of decentralized social networks come about.
GNU FM
GNU FM is getting better all the time, thanks in no small part to maverick developer, Mike Sheldon. Mike, who is also the host of the Libre.fm podcast, has been rapidly implementing features. So, if you have any ideas or suggestions on how to make GNU FM better, and you want to see those features on Libre.fm any time soon, head over to the GNU FM bug tracker and start telling us!
